Established in 1978, Nesch Brass Foundry is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, approximately one hour north of Denver and home of Colorado State University. Nesch Brass Foundry is owned and operated by Jim Nesch, a craftsman in the art of sand casting. The foundry specializes in custom metal casting work and also deals in rare antiques.
Jim was trained in the art of sand casting metal by his father who apprenticed at the Weiner Foundry in Kansas City, Kansas. Just one of the few sand casting foundries in the United States. Nesch Foundry has produced castings and unparalelled quality for customers nationwide.
For almost 30 years, Nesch Foundry has been recognized as one of the premier sand casting operations in the country. Specializing in the casting of nonferrous metals, such as brass, bronze, and aluminum, other metals can be cast upon request. Very fine natural sand called "stove plate", originating in the Mississippi River in the Kansas City area, makes it possible to reproduce a wide variety of patterns with excellent detail.
Historical reproductions are also a specialty of Nesch Brass Foundry. The Old Court House in Boulder, Colorado, features reproduction door hardware cast by Nesch Foundry. Other historic regional hotels that feature castings from Nesch Foundry include the Armstrong Hotel and the Northern Hotel.
Large retail chains, such as Anthropology, use fixtures cast by Nesch Foundry. Antiques dealers as well as the individual consumer turn to Nesch Brass for one of a kind reproductions, such as drawer pulls, hooks, and lamp parts, that can only be matched by custom casting from a pattern.
The list of items cast by Nesch Foundry is extensive and variable! Whether you need one reproduction, or several thousand, castings from Nesch Foundry will exceed your expectations!
